Saint Andrew's Episcopal School in Maryland wanted an upgrade from their previous site on the OnMessage platform. They recently rebranded and wanted to replace their old black and red site with their new brand materials. During one on one calls with their digital communications team, I worked with them to create designs that would encapsulate the energy and community of the school. I also reviewed and updated their information architecture to better promote high-importance pages such as Admissions and Events.
Once the Saint Andrew's team approved my Photoshop mockups I built the site using the Blackbaud OnMessage content management system; where I customized the structure of their layouts and widgets then styled them with CSS, including media queries and cross-browser testing. This also included creating various block styles and alternative styling for most content so the team could then take ownership of and expand their site themselves. In addition I created a separate minisite for their Strategic Plan.
Goal: Create a brand new start for Saint Andrew's, with thoughtful and in-depth designs for several of their templates, including a funding minisite. This also entailed careful design and construction of their components and photo galleries to promote their school.
Challenges: SAES was a very image-heavy site and finding ways to optimize their site build with so many galleries and hero images was difficult. Content management and individual page styling was also challenging, because they had such a robust and extensive amount of content types and requirements.
Deliverables: responsive site design, mini site, information architecture, content, front-end development with OnMessage.
