Saint Andrew's Episcopal School in Maryland is a returning client who sought me out to update the 2016 designs I'd done for them. While I was not looking for web design work at the time, I had loved working with their website team and was up for the challenge of returning to web work and the OnMessage CMS after an extensive hiatus.
Visit their siteGoal: Update SAES' site with a modern design and build it myself in BlackBaud's OnMessage CMS.
Challenges: This was challenging for several reasons. It was my first return to UI design in a few years since I was working as a UX designer at the time, though I appreciated the opportunity to remember my web design skills. This also meant that I was working two full time jobs at once, which was mentally straining. I also built this site myself after a hiatus from the OnMessage CMS; some options had changed and new features were available that I had to familiarize myself with. In particular the Visit Us tabs were difficult, because tabs were not technically possible with OnMessage. I rigged them using a persistent menu and gratuitous use of CSS :active states.
Deliverables: responsive site design, mini site, information architecture, content, front-end development with OnMessage.
